Rideable Dildo Positions: How to Ride Hands-Free

Because a rideable straps down to a surface, your whole body is free to find the position that works, over a cushion, on a chair, against the bed or with a partner. This guide covers the main positions, what each one is good for and how a small shift in angle changes everything.

What positions can you use with a rideable dildo?

You can use a rideable dildo in any position where you can mount and move over an anchored toy, squatting or kneeling over a cushion, sitting upright on a chair, leaning forward on your hands, or facing a partner across their thigh. Because the strap-down base holds the toy in place, the position is set by your body and your choice of surface, not by holding the toy steady.

The right position depends on what you want: control over depth, a sustainable pace, a particular angle or a shared setup with a partner. Most riders use a few and switch between them. Here are the main ones.

Squatting over a cushion

Squatting over a cushion-mounted rideable gives you the most control over depth. With the base strapped to a firm cushion on the floor or bed, you squat above it and use your legs and body weight to control exactly how much you take and how fast. It is the best position for easing onto a larger shape, a knot, flare or the longer Buckland, because you can rise off instantly and sink back at your own pace.

It asks more of your legs, so it suits shorter sessions or building up to the depth you want before switching to something more relaxed.

Kneeling astride a cushion

Kneeling astride the cushion is the more sustainable cousin of squatting. You kneel over the strapped-down base with the toy between your thighs, which takes the load off your legs and lets you grind and rock for longer. It is a strong all-rounder, good depth control, easy to change angle and comfortable enough to stay in.

This is a natural home base for the textured Tenox, where slow grinding and rotating is where the texture gives the most.

Sitting upright on a chair or bench

Strapping the rideable to a solid chair or bench lets you ride upright and relaxed. Seated, your weight sets the depth and you can brace on the seat or arms, making this one of the easiest positions to sustain. It is a comfortable, low-effort way to ride and a good option for a longer, slower session.

Make sure the chair can't slide across the floor before you begin.

Leaning forward on your hands

Leaning forward while you ride changes where the shaft presses. From a kneeling or squatting position, bracing your hands in front of you tilts your hips and angles a curved shape, like the Jordan or Tamlin, toward the front wall. It is less about depth and more about directing the pressure and it frees you to rock rather than rise and sink.

Facing a partner across the thigh

You can anchor a rideable across a partner's thigh and ride facing them. The included 80cm straps fit around most thighs; for a larger thigh, the longer 1.5m straps give extra room. This turns a solo toy into a shared, face-to-face position, your partner stays hands-free too and can touch, hold or help set the pace. It is the most partner-friendly setup and works especially well with the realistic Jordan.

How do you change the angle mid-ride?

To change the angle, shift your weight forward or back rather than repositioning the whole toy. Because the base is anchored, a small lean changes which spot the shaft or texture presses against, forward tilts toward the front wall, back changes the contact along the shaft. Riders often find their best angle by staying in one position and simply leaning a little each way until it lands.

This is the part a handheld toy or suction cup can't give you as reliably: with the base locked down, your body does all the aiming.

Which position suits your creature?

Match the position to the shape you are riding. A larger or more demanding creature rewards a position that maximises control, while a smoother or textured one gives you more freedom to move:

  • Knot (Tamlin) and horse (Buckland): start squatting for full control over the descent, then move to kneeling once you have taken the knot or flare.
  • Tentacle (Tenox): kneeling astride is ideal, slow grinding and rotating works the texture across every angle.
  • Realistic (Jordan): the most position-flexible; comfortable seated, kneeling or across a partner's thigh, which makes it the easiest to experiment with.

Positions are part of the point

Positions are exactly why rideables are a new way to play. A handheld toy limits you to what your arm can reach and hold; a suction cup limits you to smooth, flat surfaces. A strap-down base does neither, it anchors to a cushion, chair, bed or thigh, so you can ride in whatever position your body wants and change it whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best position for a rideable dildo?

There is no single best position, it depends on what you want. Squatting over a cushion gives the most control over depth, kneeling astride is the most sustainable all-rounder, seated on a chair is the most relaxed and mounting across a partner's thigh is the most partner-friendly.

How do you ride a rideable dildo hands-free?

Strap the base to a firm surface, then mount and move over it, squatting, kneeling or seated, using your body weight and hips to control depth, angle and pace. The anchored base means your hands stay free the whole time.

What position is best for taking a larger dildo?

Squatting over a cushion-mounted base gives the most control, because you can ease onto the shape with your legs and rise off or sink back at your own pace. Pair it with a softer firmness and plenty of water-based lube.

Can you use a rideable dildo with a partner?

Yes. Anchor it across a partner's thigh and ride facing them, keeping both of you hands-free. The included 80cm straps fit around most thighs, with 1.5m straps available for a larger thigh. The realistic Jordan works particularly well for partnered riding.

How do you change the angle when riding?

Shift your weight forward or back rather than moving the toy. Because the base is anchored, a small lean changes where the shaft or texture presses, forward tilts toward the front wall, back changes the contact along the shaft.
